CAD Engineer EDS / Wiring Systems

Tasks and responsibilities:
1. Design and development of wiring systems:
a. Creation of concepts and designs for wiring systems in vehicles, taking into account the requirements and specifications.
b. Development and maintenance of circuit diagrams/ 2D wiring harness drawings/ 3D routing/component design and or parts lists.
c. Ensuring compliance with all relevant norms, standards and customer-specific requirements.
2. Technical support and problem solving:
a. Support in technical analysis and solution of problems in existing wiring systems.
b. Conducting failure analysis and implementing corrective actions.
c. Cooperation with other departments such as production, quality assurance and purchasing to optimize the wiring systems.
3. Project work and coordination:
a. Collaboration in projects for the development and optimisation of wiring systems.
b. Coordination with internal and external partners, including suppliers and customers.
c. Participation in project meetings and technical advice to the project teams.
4. Quality assurance and validation:
a. Conducting design reviews and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
b. Support in the preparation and execution of tests and validations of the wiring systems.
c. Documentation of the test results and implementation of necessary adjustments in the design.
5. Documentation and reporting:
a. Creation and maintenance of technical documentation and reports.
b. Ensuring the proper archiving of all relevant documents and data.
c. Presenting technical solutions and project progress to management and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
1. Education and qualifications:
a. Completed studies in the field of electrical, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics or comparable qualification.
b. Additional qualifications or further training in the field of CAD design are an advantage.
2. Professional experience:
a. Several years of experience in the design and development of wiring systems in the automotive industry.
b. Experience with CAX systems and software for wiring system planning.
3. Professional competences:
a. In-depth knowledge of wiring system architecture and design.
b. Experience with relevant norms and standards in the automotive industry.
c. Knowledge of manufacturing technology and processes for wiring systems.
4. Personal skills:
a. Strong analytical and problem-oriented mindset.
b. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
c. High level of initiative and independence.
d. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
